Great Domestic Options For Your Marriott 85,000 Point Certificates

Marriott's 85,000 point free night certificates are the highest denomination the brand issues. You'll earn them from holding the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant credit card. Like other Marriott certificates, you'll be able to “ToP off” these certificates with up to 15,000 additional Marriott Bonvoy points, for a total redemption value of 100,000 points. But like many redemptions in the Marriott Bonvoy program, the best ones can be hard to come by. Complicating things is Marriott's dynamically priced award chart. Given that, here are some of our favorite redemption options available for Marriott 85,000 point certificates.

#1: St. Regis, Bal Harbour, Miami

This is a property I had the pleasure of burning an 85,000 point certificate at last year. While not the newest hotel in Miami, the St. Regis is certainly a brag-worthy resort. I enjoyed the beautiful pool as well as the beach access that felt more like a private club than a resort. I found my room for 85,000 points on the dot, but most award nights are well north of 100,000 points. Worth the effort finding a date that works to use the certificate, in my opinion!

#2. Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is an unbelievable destination in Southern California, with beautiful beaches and a superb wine region close by. It's also a great jumping off point to explore California's Central Coast. The Ritz-Carlton Bacara underwent a $100 million renovation, so it's always nice to redeem for a property when it feels its freshest. While you likely won't find available certificate redemptions in the summer season, there are nights available in the off-season.

#3. St. Regis, Aspen

I'd like to start this one off by stating that you shouldn't get your hopes up to use your certificate when there's any snow on the ground. The St. Regis, Aspen is one of the coolest properties on this list, as it's located right on the mountain for easy access during any month. I love Colorado and Utah redemptions during the summer months, as the properties are quite luxurious but don't command the ski season rates. I found a few nights in June 2026 that are covered by the certificate or with a ToP-up of Bonvoy points.

#4. Ritz-Carlton Oahu, Turtle Bay

This property shot to the ToP of the list for our family when we had a chance to stay in 2025. One of the only luxury properties available on the North Shore of Oah'u, the Ritz-Carlton is the famed Turtle Bay property, featured prominently in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Surfers are catching waves constantly right next to the resort's pool, which has one of the best sunsets every evening.

I had to search deep in the calendar into October for certificate-eligible redemptions, but I would jump at the chance to redeem for this property again.

#5: Canyon Suites at the Phoenician

The Phoenician also made our list for 50,000 point certificates, but many don't know that the property has a “hotel-within-a-hotel,” with extra services like included breakfast and butlers. The separate-tower also has its own exclusive pool. We had a chance to stay here years ago, and would love to enjoy a repeat visit. The best part is that the Canyon Suites have access to the rest of the Phoenician Resort, so there's plenty of exploring available while in residence.

Much like other luxurious Arizona properties, the Canyon Suites will require searching into the warmer months to find availability for your certificate.

Great Domestic Options For Your Marriott 85,000 Point Certificates: ToP Thoughts

As you can see, we weighted this list heavily towards luxury brands in Marriott's portfolio. That's because the 85,000 point certificate is so valuable, you'll really want to try and redeem for a property that would be expensive otherwise. Just keep in mind, Marriott does continue to charge resort fees on award reservations, so if your property does have one, you'll still be responsible for it.
