Delta Award Sale

There is a new Delta award sale that is offered from a ton of different airports for a few different locations. These deals are for basic economy and main cabin extra. The cheapest price I saw was for 44,000 Delta Skymiles round trip to Taiwan (37,400 for Gold and above Delta credit card holders). Unfortunately Premium Economy and Delta One do not seem to be trending any lower for these flights. If you can handle long haul economy then this could be a good value for your Delta Skymiles (of which I have a few of now).

Does It get Even Better?

When I was doing some poking around with the calendar search I noticed even lower prices just outside the Delta award sale dates. Look at these flights between Detroit and Taipei-Taoyuan coming up for 30,000 Delta Skymiles round trip. That is an insane price of just 25,500 for Delta Gold and above card holders – ROUND TRIP! I am not saying that I would fly that long in economy, but it is a crazy use of so few Skymiles for sure.

Delta Award Sale: ToP Thoughts

These deals could be a really good use of your Delta Skymiles if you don't mind flying economy. Per usual, be sure to just poke around the award chart for these routes. Whenever a Delta award sale happens it seems like the discounts usually stretch outside of the proposed deal windows. In this case they even had better pricing just outside of them. Flying round trip halfway around the world for only 25,000 Skymiles and $45 has me a bit shook today. It would be even better if Delta status worked on basic economy tickets like it does with some other airlines.
