Chase Sapphire WHOOP Credit

It looks like Chase is not done adding random one off credits and partnerships. Maybe it because the refresh on the Chase Sapphire Reserve was not met with the kind of adoration as the card was at launch. That is exactly how it seems with this new Chase Sapphire WHOOP credit at least, which is another one off perk. They could extend it in twelve months, but nothing is guaranteed at this time. Let's see if this credit is actually useful, or it if is just more white noise.

What Is WHOOP

I had never heard of WHOOP before this if I am being honest. It appears to be like a souped up Fitbit or Apple Watch etc. The WHOOP program seems to go into a lot more detail on your fitness tracking and recommendations. WHOOP also seems to have a lot longer battery life when compared to most smart watches. That is what I love about my little Fitbit after all, that I only need to charge it every week or two.

Having something souped up usually comes with a cost. That rings true with the WHOOP membership as well, and that is where the Chase Sapphire WHOOP credit comes in handy. If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve then you should be able to set off most of the cost of a yearly subscription. The credit for the Sapphire Preferred is less desirable.

What Are The Credits For

Each of the premium Sapphire credit cards receive this one off credit. Here are the details for each cardholder:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardmembers can receive $359 cash back (must spend $359 or more!) for a WHOOP Life annual membership.
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred® cardmembers can receive $100 cash back for any WHOOP annual membership.
  • Existing WHOOP members can take advantage of the offer by gifting an annual membership or at their point of renewal.

Chase Sapphire WHOOP Credit: ToP Thoughts

Pay close attention to your cost at checkout. You will want to make sure it is over $359 when including taxes and after any discounts. There are referral codes out there that could knock the price below $359. A lot will depend on how much your state charges tax (or not). Also remember to set a reminder to cancel your membership if you don't find it worth the cost after the first year. I personally wouldn't value this perk at all unless I had planned on doing it already. It appears people like the service from what I have read, but it seems more useful for athletes etc. Let me know what you think about the Chase Sapphire WHOOP credit in the Facebook Group.
