Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold Status
The chance to try out Marriott Bonvoy elite status through our ToP premium card is back. Chase has rolled out a limited-time offer, permitting Chase Sapphire Reserve® and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders to register for three months of Marriott Bonvoy® Gold Elite Status. Once enrolled, members will also have a chance to extend the status into early 2028 by spending three nights at eligible Marriott properties. This is not the first time Chase has offered this promo over the years, which was most recently available last summer. While Gold isn't the most covetable status level for Marriott members, the chance to grab complimentary status may be useful for those with upcoming stays. Let's take a look at what the Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold status offer affords cardholders.
How To Activate The Status
Here's how to enroll in the Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold Status offer:
- First, you must be a Marriott Bonvoy member. If you're not already, you can create an account via Chase's link.
- Login to your Chase account, and register for the promotion here. Complete enrollment between July 1 and Sept. 30, 2026.
- Receive your status by: Most requests are completed within 3 business days, according to Chase.
- Extend your status through February 2028 by: Staying 3 (three) paid nights within 3 months of enrollment.
- The 3 nights can either be consecutive or broken into separate stays.
- Eligible nights must be booked directly through Marriott Bonvoy.
- Stays booked through Ultimate Rewards or third-party channels are ineligible.
- Award nights are ineligible.
Status Terms
Here are some of the notable terms for the Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold Status offer:
- Available exclusively by invitation to Chase Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers.
- Not available for Marriott Bonvoy members who already have Gold Elite status (or another higher elite status).
- Promotion is nontransferable, subject to Marriott Bonvoy's terms and may be modified, limited or canceled at any time with or without notice.
- Additional status extension terms:
- If members don't complete the 3 qualifying paid nights required to extend Gold Elite status beyond the promotion period, their status will change to the membership level they've earned based on their qualifying nights stayed during the calendar year (or other qualifying activities).
- Nights stayed prior to promo registration are not eligible for status extension.
- Only one room per hotel is counted toward the 3 qualifying nights.
- Stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott Executive Apartments and Marriott Vacation Club owner-occupied weeks are also ineligible.
What Is Marriott Gold Elite Status Worth?
The Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold Status offer will give enrollees access to the Bonvoy program's Gold Elite status perks including priority 2 p.m. checkout (when available), 25% more points earning on qualifying Marriott purchases, room upgrades (when available), access to faster free in-room wi-fi and more. The Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold status offer may not necessarily be the best pathway to status. Several co-branded Marriott and/or premium travel credit cards include year-round access to either Marriott Silver or Gold status, and the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card even provides complimentary Platinum status. ToP Co-Founder Sarah Dye recently outlined how credit cards play into her own pathway to Bonvoy status. That said, if you don't already have Gold status and you think there's any chance you'll stay at a Marriott soon, the late checkout or potential for upgrades could still come in clutch.
Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold Status: ToP Thoughts
If you don't already have Marriott Gold status through another card (or other avenue), the Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold status offer could be helpful for upcoming stays. While it won't get you ToP-tier perks like breakfast or lounge access, the other perks like late checkout may be beneficial to some. If you decide to enroll, consider timing. You could wait for the optimal time to register before Sept. 30 to ensure your upcoming stays fall within an ideal three-month window.
