There are two new car rental Amex Offers that may be useful for an upcoming trip. One of the Amex Offers is for Avis and the other is for Alamo. Both of the offers could save you up to 20% on your next rental.

The downside of these offers is that you miss out on better car rental coverage from your credit card, since you would be using an American Express card to pay. Although, depending on the card, you could add a policy to it, but that may eat into some of the savings you get from the car rental Amex Offers. That should be a consideration when deciding whether or not these offers give you the best deal overall.

Avis Amex Offer

Here are the details for the Avis Amex Offer:

Earn a one-time $75 statement credit after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $350 in one or more purchases in-store at Avis Car Rental or online at avis.com.
Must be used by 3/31/2025

Some Notable Terms

You need to activate the offer before using it.
The rental must be picked up and returned in the US or US territories.
Excludes Budget & Payless brands, Chauffeur Drive, Car Sales, Scooter rentals, e-Toll and purchases with travel partners for lodging, airfare, ground transportation, or parking.

Alamo Amex Offer

Here are the details for the Alamo Amex Offer:

Earn a one-time $50 statement credit after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $250 in one or more purchases in-person at Alamo Rent-a-Car US locations or online at alamo.com.
Rentals must be completed and paid for by 3/7/2025 in order to qualify.

Some Notable Terms

Offer valid only for vehicle rental reservations booked directly with Alamo Rent-a-Car in-person at US locations, online at US website alamo.com, or through the Alamo US mobile app.
- Purchase must be made in US dollars
Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.
Not valid for bookings made through travel agents or affiliate booking sites.
Excludes e-Tolls, Meetings & Group Rentals, General Aviation/FBO Rentals, Tour Operator bookings, Enterprise Car Sales, and purchases with Travel Partners (such as Airfare, Train, Hotel).
Drivers under age 25 may have to pay higher rates.

Car Rental Amex Offers: ToP Thoughts

Both of the car rental Amex Offer options are compelling, especially if your normal car insurance covers rentals. Then you wouldn't need to activate the Amex premium car rental protection, which will eat into the savings some. Even if you need to pay that fee it could still make sense to take advantage of the offer. If you have an upcoming trip, are targeted for these offers, and Alamo or Avis offer the best price – then this could be a slam dunk.
