New JetBlue Mint Base Fares
This week, JetBlue opens its second BlueHouse lounge. The 12,000-square-foot space will debut on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). However, you'll have to check the access rules closely before you plan to visit. The opening comes with the news of expanded access for Mint customers—but only for some Mint travelers. Yes, yet another airline is introducing unbundled fare classes. Following the trend of many other carriers (including last week’s news about Flying Blue introducing new pricing tiers on Air France and KLM flights), we can now expect a new Mint Base fare option soon from JetBlue. Here's what we know so far about the new JetBlue Mint Base fares.
JetBlue Mint Base Fares Are Coming
New JetBlue Mint Base fares—a lower-fare version of the airline's premium Mint experience—will launch soon. The timeline will fall within “the coming weeks,” according to a press release. Following the growing trend we’ve seen among other airlines, Mint Base sounds like something closer to the basic economy version of JetBlue's business class product. Passengers buying Mint Base will still get the in-flight Mint experience, but they'll lose several perks. Mint Base tickets will NOT include:
- BlueHouse lounge access
- Complimentary advance seat selection
- Free changes and cancellations (now, they will be subject to fees)
Meanwhile, Mint and Mint Flex fares will continue to include advance seat selection and no change or cancellation fees. Those fares will soon also include complimentary BlueHouse access—more on that below. While we don’t yet know what the price differences may look like for the fare types, these new unbundled fares will likely be less attractive than a fully flexible ticket.
JetBlue Expands Lounge Footprint + Access Rules
JetBlue’s second-ever BlueHouse lounge will open Aug. 27, 2026, in BOS’ Terminal C. It joins JetBlue's first BlueHouse location, which opened in late 2025 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The new lounge sounds pretty cool, with a New England-themed interior. It has dining areas, a neighborhood bar and a game room dubbed “The Dugout,” inspired by Boston's sports culture. At its Candy Closet, travelers can fill bags with treats of their choosing. Quiet workspaces and private rooms for calls and meetings are modeled after the Boston Public Library.
While those who ultimately book one of the new JetBlue Mint Base fares won’t be able to enter, the BlueHouse access rules are otherwise getting a little friendlier. Beginning Aug. 27, 2026, passengers departing on confirmed Mint or Mint Flex fares will enjoy complimentary entry. (Previously, you had to be traveling on a transatlantic Mint itinerary to enjoy complimentary access.) The new access policy will allow the following customers complimentary entry, subject to space availability, when they present a confirmed, same-day boarding pass for travel on a Mint, Mint Flex, EvenMore, EvenMore Flex, Main or Main Flex fare.

New JetBlue Mint Base Fares: ToP Thoughts
Unfortunately, yet another airline is introducing unbundled, basic business fares. How much of a devaluation this does or does not end up being for JetBlue will hinge on how the pricing shakes out. The overall lounge entry updates are a bit of a mixed bag, since more Mint customers will soon be able to enjoy complimentary access. The new lounge at BOS does look pretty cool, and we'll eagerly await reports from our Facebook group members once they visit.
