Does Chase Match Increased Ink Offers?

Chase is back with a couple of all-time high welcome offers for the Chase Ink Unlimited & Chase Ink Cash cards. These are two of the best business cards available, and are an excellent way to earn lots of Ultimate Rewards points. What if you recently applied for one of these cards when the offer was still lower though? Does Chase match increased Ink offers usually? Will they match the new offer for anyone that recently opened either of these two cards this time around? Let's dive in to all of these questions.

History With Chase Matching Increased Credit Card Offers

Chase has historically been the best bank when it comes to matching recently increased welcome offers. Many banks, like Amex, will never even consider it. Usually Chase is willing to do something if you had applied a few weeks before the increased offer is announced. Banks will do this at times to ensure there most recent cardholders don't start of with the new account with a bad taste in their mouth. Historically, they are a bit more firm on approvals for offer matching when new perks or an increased annual fee is introduced. Think of the recent Chase Sapphire Reserve refresh as an example of this.

How To Ask For Chase To Match The Increased Offer

You have better chances for success if you are still working on your minimum spend requirement. I would still reach out if you recently earned the welcome offer though. If I had signed up in the last 90 days, the standard welcome offer spending period, then I would give it a shot. Heck, I might try even if outside of that window. All they can say is no after all.

The best way to ask if they are matching to a recently increased welcome offer is to send Chase a secure message when logged into your account. Select your new credit card and send a message for that specific card.

I usually say something along the lines of:

I recently signed up for the Chase Ink Business (Insert Card Name) and noticed that the offer has just been increased. The offer went from (Insert Old Amount) Ultimate Rewards to (Insert New Amount) Ultimate Rewards. Is there anyway I could please be matched to that higher offer since it has only been a few weeks since I was approved?

Recent Data Points Are Not Looking Good

With these recently increased offers on the Chase Ink Unlimited & Chase Ink Cash we have seen multiple data points on whether or not Chase is matching increased offers this time around. Unfortunately, the news is not good so far. It appears that Chase is not matching the increased offers this time around, at least not yet. Sometimes they change their stance after a few days, when new procedures make there way down to the front link call reps.

A few people have been told to reach back out once the minimum spend required is completed and ask again then. I was a bit surprised they were so firm on saying no this time around since only the amount of points earned changed with the offer. It was especially shocking for people that signed up for the cards just a few days before the offer was released. I would try reaching out again in a month or so and see what they say then. Matching Chase Ink Cash & Unlimited Increased Offers: ToP Thoughts

Normally Chase is really good about matching increased welcome offers if a person recently signed up. In the past, the only time it would be an issue is when an annual fee increased, new perks were added or if a statement credit etc. was a part of the new offer. That is why I was surprised to see that they were not matching the increased Ink Cash and Ink Unlimited offers this time around. Hopefully that stance changes in the near future and people are able to get those extra 15,000 points. Let us know any recent data points you have over in the ToP Facebook Group.
