IHG's Summer Promotion is back, which means it's time to pick your poison! The global hotel brand lets travelers decide which of two versions works best for their trips: 2K or 8K earning for a set number of nights stayed. ToP always recommends registering for all promos, as you never know when you might end up booking a hotel that will trigger its benefits. The Promotion
For the IHG summer 2026 promotion, IHG One Rewards members can select either of the following:
- 2,000 IHG bonus points every 2 nights; or
- 8,000 IHG bonus points every 4 nights.

Terms of the Promotion
Here are the notable terms & conditions of the IHG summer 2026 promotion, which are not particularly lucrative for award travelers.
- Pre-register by May 19, 2026, or during the offer period from May 20, 2026 and ending on Aug. 31, 2026.
- Once you register for one promo, you aren't eligible for the other one.
- The promotion period is for stays from May 20, 2026 and ending on Aug. 31, 2026. The first qualifying stay must occur after registration and within the promotion period.
- Qualifying stays include 1-night minimum reservations at participating hotels booked under a qualifying rate, with total spend exceeding $30 USD (or local currency equivalent) per night.
- Exclusions: Rewards nights, Points & Cash stays, and nights booked via online travel agencies or other reservation sites.
- Only one registered member per room will receive bonus points, and only one room per night will count.
- Bonus points earned are not elite-status qualifying.
- IHG One Rewards benefits are available at all IHG® Hotels & Resorts and other partner hotels participating in the program, with exceptions for: Six Senses® Hotels, Resorts & Spas (IHG One Rewards points may be earned or redeemed for stays but other benefits may not be available. Note some hotels do not participate in IHG One Rewards.); the portfolio of Iberostar Beachfront Resorts excludes any interests in Cuba (not all Iberostar Beachfront Resorts participate in IHG One Rewards); Ruby Hotels will be continuously integrated into IHG One Rewards starting in 2026 (please check the individual hotel website for participation information).
Which IHG Summer Promotion is Right for You?
Let's look at the math for this IHG Summer 2026 promotion. If you can hit the 4 nights, you'll earn up to 2,000 bonus points per night. That will amount to twice as many points in some cases, since the other promo only affords 2,000 bonus points per every two nights. Any additional nights after the 4-night mark outpace the 2-night promotion, even if you end up with an odd number that does not qualify for additional bonus points.

IHG Summer Promotion: ToP Thoughts
It's a bummer that this promo only works for cash stays. It's also worth noting that there have been varying versions of this offer over the years, including an option to earn 10,000 points for every four nights as recently as 2023. Still, ToP always recommends you sign up for any and all loyalty program promotions—you just never know when you'll book a last-minute stay. It's best to be prepared!
