Hilton Aspire Retention Offer
Summer is a good time to check those goals for the year and get ready for the second half of the year push for your points and miles. For me, the end of the summer means it is time for my Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card annual fee to post. As with any annual fee posting, I always reach out to see if there is a retention offer on the card – even if I know I am keeping it long term. The Aspire is one such card, since the perks more than outweigh the fee each and every year, at least for me. So asking for an offer is exactly what I did, and I was pleasantly surprised with the results!

Hilton Aspire Retention Offer Details
While many become a bit infatuated with Hilton cards at times, they are definitely cards to wait for until one is over 5/24. I grabbed this card once over 5/24, and have been gladly using my points at my beloved Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. In the past I haven't been so lucky getting a retention offer for this account, and most that have only received 10,000 points. Because of that, you could say I was a bit surprised with the offer if received:
- Earn 60,000 Hilton Honors after spending $3,000 within 3 months of accepting the offer.
- Must keep the account open at least 12 months from the time of acceptance or risk having the points removed.
Is This Card A Keeper?
The retention offer makes it an easy decision. While Hilton points are only worth about 1/2 a cent per point, that makes the retention offer worth around $300. For me though, redeeming at a higher end property like Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos can bring around 1 cent a piece when cash rates can be $1000-1500.
While the retention offer helps my value proposition for the next year, let's look at the long term value. The card has an annual fee of $550 and I get the following valuable perks for that cost:
- Complimentary Free Night Reward upon card opening and every year upon membership renewal (worth $300+ to me)
- Get up to $200 in statement credits semi-annually for eligible purchases made directly with participating Hilton Resorts on your Hilton Aspire Card. (Hello Cabo margaritas! Worth close to $200 to me)
- Get up to $50 in statement credits each quarter in flight credits. That is a total of up to $200 back each year. This is a true flight credit, you just need to book directly with an airline. (Worth close to $200 for me since it is now a true credit)
That right there is around $700 in value for $550. That is for me though, you may have a more difficult time using the resort credit etc. For a full breakdown of the Aspire card perks and whether the card is still worth it, you can check out our full guide.

Hilton Aspire Retention Offer: ToP Thoughts
This Hilton Aspire retention offer is pretty great no matter what time of year it comes. It may be worth reaching out to American Express to see if you can get something similar. I was already planning on keeping the card long term either way, but this is just icing on the cake. For me I can still justify the annual fee regardless for the certificate alone thanks to my beloved Waldorf.
