Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card Review

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a great no annual fee, cash back business card from Chase.  As part of the Ink family, it is a business card and you need to have a business in order to qualify.  Similar to Chase cash back cards, when combined with some of their premium cards, you have the potential to turn your cash back into points. We will cover the welcome offer, earning structure, card perks and share our overall thoughts in this Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card Review.

Chase Ink Cash Welcome Offer Details

The current offer for the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is the following:

  • Earn $350 when you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months and an additional $400 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first six months after account opening.
  • This card has a $0 annual fee.

Chase Application Rules

Like other Chase cards, you will not qualify for this card if you have opened more than 5 credit cards with any bank in the last 24 months. It is worth noting that since this card is a business card it will NOT add to your 5/24 count, but you do need to be under it to get the card.

Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card Review: Earning Rates

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card offers one of the most rewarding earning structures out there, especially for a no annual fee card. Here are the current earning rates:

  • 5% back / 5x on the first $25,000 in combined purchases on the account during each anniversary (not calendar) year for the following categories:
    • Office supply stores
    • Internet
    • Cable
    • Phone Services
  • 2% back / 2x on the first $25,000 in combined purchases on the account during each anniversary (not calendar) year for the following categories:
    • Gas stations
    • Dining
  • 1% / 1x on all other eligible purchases
How To Turn Your Cashback Into Ultimate Rewards

While you can earn cash back with the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, you can also use your points for travel.  This is even more valuable if you have on of the following premium Chase cards:

That is because the Ink Cash is a part of the Chase Ultimate Rewards program allowing you to transfer points between all of your accounts.  Once your points are in an Ultimate Rewards earning account (one of the three cards listed above), you can transfer points 1:1 to a variety of airline and hotel partners.

Card Benefits

If there is one knock on the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card it is that there are not really any card perks to speak of. It is nice that the points earned with the Ink Cash can be turned into transferrable Ultimate Rewards if you have the proper card lineup (discussed above). That gives users the chance at additional value and why getting the Chase Trifecta is so important.

Chase Ink Cash: ToP Analysis

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a favorite among the ToP team because of it's rewarding earning structure and no annual fee. This is a sure thing, no doubt about it long term keeper card. Especially if you pair it up with an Ultimate Rewards earning card to unlock its full potential. It is probably the best card available for racking up Ultimate Rewards points via spend outside of the welcome offer.

The welcome offer deserves its time in the sun as well. At the current level it is one of the best offers in the business, or personal, credit card arena. For example, 75,000 points are instantly worth $750 in cash back, but can be worth so much more if you unlock them as full blown Ultimate Rewards points. At that point you are looking at closer to $1,500 in value and it can get upwards of $1,800+ if used for international flights.

Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card Review: ToP Thoughts

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is the business card hero of ToP. Every single member has one, carries it everywhere they go and plans to keep it for as long as Chase will offer it. That is because of the earning potential it offers all for the rock bottom price of $0 for the annual fee. That is a deal that is probably too good to be true, but it IS true!

If your business can max out the 5% earning category each cardmember year that is a earning potential of $1,250 without tapping into the 2% earn on gas and restaurants.  And, that is before you take into account the value that can be had if those points turn into transferrable currency instead of cash. You could be looking at closer to $2,000 in value.

We give the Chase Ink Cash our stamp of approval of a must get & must keep card for the majority of people!
