ToP Roundup
In this series I will share articles I found interesting from all over the web. These will be articles about miles, points, travel, finance and everything in-between. Hopefully this ToP Roundup series will give you some interesting tidbits and new information you may have missed during the week. If you see anything out there that you think others may find of interest please feel free to share it with me at Mark@travel-on-points.com.
Cathay Pacific Removing First Class From Boeing 777-300ERs – One Mile at a Time
This is sad news for a lot of people that have fond memories in Cathay Pacific first class. At least first won't be gone from the entire fleet (hopefully) and the new business class seats should be super nice. Maybe they will be good enough to take our mind off the loss all together!
Delta Tweaks Boarding Process (Again), But Little Will Change – Thrifty Traveler
As much as I cringe at Southwest's seating arrangement at least everyone knows when to line up for their boarding. These random zone names etc. just confuse people. Hopefully this will help with gate lice. Although I have to imagine just loading the plane back to front would be the most efficient way. People would revolt though.
Marriott Insiders Confess The Reasons They Refuse To Upgrade Guests – Even When They’re Supposed To – View from the Wing
I don't think people would mind an either or choice for late checkout or a suite upgrade it that is really the main crux of the situation. These brands moving away from managing properties was bound to lead to this though.
