Salem Hampton Inn Award Space
I don't know if anyone cares about this besides my family but I thought it was worth raising the alarm just in case. I have been stalking Salem Hampton Inn award space for next October for a few weeks now. Why? Because it is the best place for Halloween lovers. You could call it a Hocus Pocus movie lovers mecca too I guess. My daughter and wife happen to check both those boxes and have been wanting to enjoy the festivities one of these falls.

ToggleWhat Is The Big Deal About A Hotel In Salem, Massachusetts?
What makes this hotel unique is that the Hampton Inn is only a few years old and it is the only points hotel in the city. It is right in the heart of it all, just a short walking distance to all of the festivities. That, and you get guaranteed parking, which may be the biggest thing (even if $22 a night via valet). Salem has a huge Halloween production every weekend in October all the way up to Halloween itself. The cash prices can be upwards of $800 a night too!
Booking The Salem Hampton Inn
The cost of the rooms is 70,000 Hilton Honors points per night which seems steep for a Hampton Inn. It is all about location, location, location though. This hotel is in the heart of everything. No fighting traffic into, or out of, town after spending a long day walking around the city. At those cash prices it is a pretty great return for your Hilton Honors points too, at over 1 cent per point, even if it is at severely inflated pricing.
Booking An Award Night
One thing I did notice is there is a two night minimum required to get the award nights to show in searches.
When I dropped it down to a one night stay all of the award space vanished. Not just for the weekends either, but for the entire month. I found it interesting that most months showed no award space when searching for one night. That may change as things get closer, but I locked in the two night stay now.
Salem Hampton Inn Award Space: ToP Thoughts
My son and I spent an afternoon in Salem during our New Haven pizza challenge trip and really liked the area. It is a super cute town with a lot of history. I can't wait to see it really come to life in October though. I know my daughter will love taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the transformation the city takes on during the Halloween season. She will also love checking out some Hocus Pocus filming locations.
We may even tack on another trip to New Haven so the girls can do the pizza challenge the day before our stay. Either that or head into Boston for the day.
