Hyatt Centric Dublin Review
If you’re traveling to Dublin and want to use your Hyatt points, Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin is your best option. Located in Dublin’s “The Liberties” neighborhood, the Hyatt is a quick walk to many Dublin attractions, and overall we had a great experience. In this Hyatt Centric Dublin review I will cover the location, room, cost and share some of my overall thoughts.

ToggleGetting to Hyatt Centric Dublin
It’s about a 30-minute drive from the Dublin airport to the Hyatt Centric Dublin. Dublin streets are hectic, and if you’re not comfortable driving in busy cities (or on the opposite side of the road), a taxi or ride-share might be your best bet. Make sure you update your Uber account to avoid getting charged a currency conversion fee before your trip. If you do rent a car, I highly recommend getting into the parking garage first, and then unloading. There are only two spots to park in front of the hotel, and you will be dodging pedestrians, bicycles, electric scooters, and cars all zipping around you. Remember, parking for globalists on award stays is free, otherwise you’ll pay 21 Euros per night.
Typical Booking Cost
When I booked and stayed, The Hyatt Centric Dublin was a category 4 property, starting at 12,000 points per night. This year’s category changes bumped it up to a category 5, so award nights are now:
- 17,000 points off-peak
- 20,000 points standard
- 23,000 points peak
I was lucky enough to find standard suites available, and I used a Suite Upgrade Award to lock it in ahead of time. Traveling as a party of 5, I booked a second room with two twin beds as well. Unfortunately, these room types did not connect, but the staff were able to get us close. If you had plans to use your category 1-4 free night certificate here, you’d better book before March 25, 2025.

Hyatt Centric Dublin Review: Lobby Area
Modern and sleek, the lobby is very nice, with plenty of comfy seating around the desk area. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Adjacent to the front desk is the Liberties Gate Bar, serving lunch and dinner. Further down is the breakfast area.

King Suite Room
The Hyatt Centric Dublin King Suite is what your suite upgrade award will get you into. We found it very spacious, especially for a European hotel room. Complimentary bathrobes and a safe are provided in the closet along with an iron and ironing board. Our suite was handicap accessible, so the bathroom was huge, even by American standards. The living area had a couch, two chairs, its own TV, a mini fridge, espresso maker, and another larger desk area. The bedroom was large enough to fit the king bed and a desk, and the living area was separated by a partial wall. Complimentary waters were provided daily as well.

Hyatt Centric Dublin Review: Two Twin Beds Room
A standard room with two beds is more along the lines of what you would expect a European hotel room to look like. Very basic but clean, with a small desk and a couple of chairs. Hyatt Centric Dublin standard rooms are also equipped with mini fridges and espresso makers, and a small closet with robes. Bathrooms are a good size as well as being clean and modern.

Restaurants
Breakfast is a full-service a la carte menu – no buffet here. As a Hyatt Globalist, everything on the menu was included – we even ordered lattes to go and the staff were happy to accommodate. Overall, we were very happy with the food at Hyatt Centric Dublin. Dinner at the Liberties Gate Bar was very good too. The cocktail list was really well done, and there was a huge whiskey selection, but I stuck to drinking Guinness.

Fitness Center
Located in the lower level near the parking garage, the fitness center has basic workout equipment, including treadmills, medicine balls, dumbbells, ellipticals, a rowing machine, cable machine, and a couple benches.
Attractions Nearby
The location here was great for what we wanted to do in Dublin, and we walked everywhere. Even with a 3-year-old, a 6-year-old, and my mom, who recently had knee replacement surgery, we able to hit everything we needed. We walked to the Guinness Storehouse tour (yes it’s a tourist trap but still really cool), the Temple Bar District, Trinity College area, St. Stephen’s Green (lovely park with a great playground for kids), and Teeling Distillery (must do if you like whiskey). The hotel is also right across the street from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where you can do a tour or just hang out in the park. There’s another small playground here if you need to find somewhere for the kids to burn some energy.
Hyatt Centric Dublin Review: ToP Thoughts
This property is clean, modern, and in an excellent location in Dublin. While it isn't in the heart of the hustle and bustle, we found most everything to be within walking distance – which was a huge plus. Value for your points at the Hyatt Centric Dublin have no doubt gone down with the recent Hyatt award chart changes. We were very sad to see this one on the list which means it will no longer be available to use Category 1-4 Free Night Awards at. Having said that, even at the higher award cost we would not hesitate to stay here again
