Wireless Bill Amex Offer
I alerted to everyone that more people had been targeted for the cable & insurance bill Amex Offer yesterday. ToP team member Rick went digging to see if he was one of the lucky ones, but didn't see the offer on any of his cards. What he did see, though, was a wireless bill Amex Offer that could save him up to 10% off his cell phone bill. It looks like this one has been around for a bit, but I must have missed it since I never wrote it up. Time is a little limited on this one, so you may need to prepay some things to maximize it if you find it.
Details Of The Offer
Here are the details of the wireless bill Amex Offer:
- Get 10% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible card to pay your wireless bill directly with a US wireless service provider.
- Must be billed by 6/16/24
- Limit of $30 back in total statement credits
It appears there is a secondary offer to this one as well (HT DoC)
- Get a $10 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases to pay US bill payments for cable and/or internet services made directly with the provider
- Use by 6/10/2024
- Limit of 2 statement credits (total of $20)
Maximizing These Offers
Since we are giving you a bit of late notice you may only have one bill to pay before the 6/10 or 6/16 deadline. I would instead prepay some things with these offers to lock in the discount. You can just make two $50 payments for the second to maximize your savings at 20% off that $100. I would probably just make a $300 lump sum payment for the first one to lock in the 10% savings there as well.
One thing you need to consider is any cell phone insurance you get with your regular credit card payment. If you value that more than this discount then you may want to skip it. You should also consider the automatic discount you may get for paying without a credit card. I have to imagine this discounts will outweigh that one, but crunch the numbers for yourself.
Wireless Bill Amex Offer: ToP Thoughts
I usually skip over offers that require you to use it over several months / payments, since it isn't worth the effort setting up a new automatic billing etc. and then remembering to change it back later. With these two offers though, you should be able to just make one time payments to knock them out. That makes it much more likely that I would use them. Hopefully many of you see a wireless bill Amex Offer on one of your accounts and save some money on that ever growing cell phone bill.
