New Chase Ink Preferred Offer
Unless you have been living under a rock you know that the currently increased Chase Ink Business Preferred 120,000 offer is set to end tomorrow 9/5/24 at 9AM. We all had kind of assumed that the offer would be reduced to 100,000 points after that. That has kind of been the status quo offer for a while now. It looks like refer a friend links are telling a different story though, and this offer may be settling into a new norm. A new normal that is 30,000 points lower than what is currently available. Could this be what we see on the public offer starting tomorrow afternoon too?

ToggleDetails Of The Offer
Here is what the new Chase Ink Preferred offer is showing via refer a friend links:
- Earn 90,000 bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
- The annual fee for this card is $95 and it is not waived.
This is 10,000 points less than what had become the standard public offer for a while now. It is also 30,000 points less than the currently available 120K points offer. Usually the public offer and referral offer move together, although not 100% of the time – as we saw this go around on this card.
We won't know for sure until tomorrow, but it there is a good possibility that the new public offer could be 90,000 points as well.
This Is Kind Of A Double Whammy
This lowered offer on the Chase Ink Preferred comes after it already went a month or so without ever updating to the higher 120K offer on referrals. Even at the lower 100K level it was still a good option for two person households because the referral bonus was 40,000 points. When combining the two you still came out 20,000 points ahead of the publicly available 120K offer.
A few days ago that referral bonus was slashed in half, so you only get 20,000 points now. That made it the same amount of points as taking the public offer, 120K, but you would also have tax implications on the referral points. With this double whammy the referral route is markedly worse for everyone.
All of this is a long way to say that you should grab the Ink Preferred now if you were considering it. Because starting tomorrow it looks a whole lot less shiny, whether that includes a referral bonus or not!
New Chase Ink Preferred Offer: ToP Thoughts
It is rare that we get a peek into what the next offer will be before it comes, and this is potentially one of those times. The only hesitation I have is the fact that the referral and public offer didn't track on the most recent Chase Ink Business Preferred offer increase.
However it goes down, there is no doubt that the current offer is the best available, and will be for the near future. With the reduction in the refer a friend bonus, and the lower welcome offer via referral, we can now say that with certainty.
