Hyatt Brand Explorer
Hyatt is known in the award travel space for having some of the best point value redemptions. This is because they have a fixed award chart with category-based redemptions and no hidden prices, taxes, or fees for rooms. Hyatt also has plenty of perks and status benefits you can earn as well. Just one of the many perks available to any member is the Hyatt Brand Explorer Award.

ToggleWhat is Hyatt's Brand Explorer?
The Hyatt Brand Explorer Award rewards you for staying at properties and checking off Hyatt's different hotel brands. You earn a free category 1-4 award night for every 5 different brands you visit.
How It Works
Simply pay an eligible rate, which includes cash or points redemptions, or even the use of a free night award to stay at five different Hyatt brands. You will earn a free night award for every 5 new Hyatt brands you stay. There is no set timeframe to check off 5 brands; you can move as slow or as fast as you wish. This deal is valid for the lifetime of your World of Hyatt account.
You can find the Brand Explorer program under My Account when you log into your World of Hyatt account.
Your brand stays are easy to track within your account by simply clicking on brand explorer. If you stay at a new brand, the brand will gain a checkmark in your tracker. Once you reach 5 brands, you will receive a free night award. It's that simple.
The tracker on Hyatt's website shows both your current progress towards the next 5-brand threshold (top left), and the number of free night awards you received per 5 brands visited (top right).

Generally, free night certificates earned via the Hyatt Brand Explorer Award work similar to other free night certificates. Here are the main rules:
- The certificates are redeemable only for category 1-4 hotels and resorts.
- The certificates are valid for one year from the date of issuance.
- They are not subject to blackout dates at Hyatt hotels. However, they may not be redeemable where a hotel has a minimum length of stay requirement.
- May not be redeemed at “award ineligible properties” (namely, Hyatt Windward Pointe; Hyatt Beach House; Residences at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek; Hyatt Sierra Lodge; Hyatt Siesta Key Beach; Ventana Campground; The Chatwal Lodge; and any Destination by Hyatt Residence property, except as otherwise specified in the Destination by Hyatt Residence Award Terms).
