Hilton Power Up Promotion

I wanted to share a few new promotions rolling out that could get you some bonus Hilton Honors points. The first one is the Hilton Power Up promotion, and the second is through a partnership with Lyft. I'll dive into the details on both offers, which should help you pad your points balances. As always, I encourage everyone to activate promos so that you can set it and forget it. Even if you don't have a planned Hilton stay for now you just never know where your travels may take you in the future.

Power Up Promotion Details

Here are the details for the Hilton Power Up promotion:

  • Earn 2,500 Bonus Points on all Hilton stays between September 3 and December 31, 2024.
    • There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the promotion period with this offer.
  • You can register today for the Power Up Promotion

Promotion Terms

Here are some notable terms:

  • Please allow six to eight weeks from the completion of your stay for Bonus Points to appear in your account.
  • A ‘stay' is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again.
  • The offer is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.
  • Check out their full FAQ section for more information.

It doesn't explicitly say that points stays are prohibited, at least from what I could tell in the terms and FAQ. That had me assuming that the Hilton Power Up promotion would count towards award stays. I also reached out to the PR agency that is in charge of the promotion, and they confirmed that it should work for points stays too. I would consider charging something cheap to the room to have a folio at checkout to be safe though.

Hilton Lyft Promotion

There is another promotion that kicked off a few weeks ago that involves Hilton and Lyft. You can another earn 1,500 Bonus Points when linking their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts for the first time, and taking 5 rides during the promotion period.

  • Link your Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts to earn 3 Points per $1 spent on Lyft rides (economy, luxury and extra seats).
  • Then complete five (5) Eligible Lyft Rides between July 24, 2024 to September 3, 2024.
    • “Eligible Lyft Ride” means any paid Lyft Ride requested and completed using the Lyft app within the United States or Canada after registering the Linked Account.
  • Earn a 1,500 point bonus once completed
    • The bonus points should post within two weeks after the 5th ride.
  • Visit hiltonhonorslyft.com for more information and to link your accounts.

Hilton Power Up Promotion: ToP Thoughts

While the Hilton Power Up promotion isn't the sexiest of promotions, getting some bonus points is always a good thing. If it works on award stays, like expected, then even better. Getting 2,500 points isn't a ton, worth like $10 – $12, but something is better than nothing. Especially if you have a lot of one night stays, or if work is paying for it.

The Lyft promo is an easy win too if you already use Lyft. I wouldn't go out of my way for it though.

Let me know what you think of these two promos over in the ToP Facebook Group.
