I was targeted for a new NYC Marriott timeshare offer for multiple locations in New York City. While it is far from the sexiest timeshare offer I have seen, it could be interesting for people going during an expensive time in NYC. It isn't quite as discounted of a stay as we are used to seeing, but the locations seem a bit better than the standard offers I have received. Let's take a look at the details.

Offer Terms

Here are the terms of my NYC Marriott timeshare offer:

ELIGIBILITY: 

• Must be a U.S. resident with an annual household income of $100,000 or more.
• One offer per household.
• The following are not eligible for this offer: Participants in a Marriott Vacation Club^®, Sheraton^® Vacation Club, or Westin^® Vacation Club promotion within the past year or with an active vacation package; employees and immediate family of Sponsor or its affiliated companies; and residents of HI, ME and WV.

PRESENTATION:

• Attendance at the sales presentation, lasting approximately 90 minutes, is required.
• Failure to attend the sales presentation will result in the charge of the actual retail value of the accommodations. 
• If married, cohabitating, or in a life partnership, both parties must attend together to receive this special offer. Individuals may purchase separately.
• Transportation to and from the presentation is not provided.

OFFER: 

• All currency mentions are U.S. dollars. A $199 deposit is required at time of purchase, with any remaining balance due when the reservation is made.

• Stay must be consecutive nights.
• Not valid for stays consecutive with Owner usage.

RESCHEDULING AND CANCELLATIONS: 

• Once your reservation is confirmed, you have 1 complimentary reschedule within 3 days of booking your travel dates.
• You may request changes up to 30 days prior to check-in date with a $75 nonrefundable change fee.
• Rescheduling is not allowed within 30 days of check-in date.
• For residents of MI, MN, ND, NM, and TX, cancellations must be made in writing within 15 calendar days of purchase, or package is nonrefundable.
• Refunds will be issued within 10 business days of receipt of cancellation notice.

MARRIOTT BONVOY POINTS:

GIFT CARD:

What Kind Of Value Does This Timeshare Offer Present?

A couple of searches seemed to show the $499 packages are around half off at times. The $799 packages don't seem to offer much value at all. Maybe a 20% – 30% discount, which probably isn't worth the two hour presentation. The 10,000 Bonvoy points are probably worth another $75 or so, which doesn't move the needle much.

If you were planning on going to NYC in the next year, and finding cash rates or points rates high during your dates, then maybe the lower end packages could make sense.

NYC Marriott Timeshare Offer: ToP Thoughts

This NYC Marriott timeshare offer isn't the best, but it could make sense in certain situations. The value proposition just isn't there to go out of your way to do it. If you had plans to visit New York City, and one of the hotels fits your needs, then maybe it could make sense.
