Hilton Is Out Of Gift Cards
I wanted to put together a quick PSA type post that Hilton is out of gift cards. How does that happen in 2024? They likely were not expecting the new found love for their gift cards, which don't work properly half the time, when coming up with the great idea of all of these Amex card credits. You now can earn statement credits for Hilton purchases with the following cards:
- Amex Business Platinum – $50 per quarter
- Hilton Business – $60 per quarter
- Hilton Surpass – $50 per quarter
Since these are all annoying quarterly credits, people struggle to maximize them on property every 3 months. Some have been ordering Hilton gift cards online to trigger the credit for quarters that they can't use them normally. This locks in their benefit and makes sure nothing goes to waste. That is, as long as the Hilton gift card actually works!
Update 1/3/25: They Have Actually Pulled Gift Cards From The Site
Here is the updated banner alert on the Hilton gift card page as of 1/3/25:
Dear Hilton Gift Card Purchasing Consumer – due to an unforeseen inventory shortage of Hilton Gift Cards, RPG has been instructed to temporarily suspend the sales of Hilton gift cards until card inventory is replenished, by the Hilton Program Management Team. We are expecting replenished inventory to be available within the next eight weeks. RPG, along with the Hilton Gift Card Management Team, apologizes for this unexpected delay, and appreciates your understanding as we work closely with all relevant parties to resolve this shortage as expediently as possible.
Hopefully they get this figured out by the end of the quarter. Also, hopefully they finally get some that actually work!
When you go to the Hilton gift card page you will see a banner at the top with this warning:
We are currently experiencing an inventory outage, which will result in a delay in fulfilling your order beyond our standard processing and shipping timeframes. If you wish to continue with your purchase, we hope to have inventory available in the coming weeks and will ship your order as soon as possible. Thank you.
I don't think people will care if it takes a while for them to ship the cards, but they will care if they take a while to bill them because of it. If Hilton delays the charge on your credit card then it might trigger next quarter's benefit versus this one. If you give it a try anyway be sure to let us know if the charge settles a few days later or not over in the ToP Facebook Group. If you can figure out another option then I would go that route instead. These gift cards are a real pain in the butt, and this just adds more fuel to that fire.
