Delta Reserve Authorized User Offer
I just received a Delta Reserve authorized user offer that is the best one I have ever received from American Express. I'll take it a bit further, it is the best offer I have received from any issuer. That is true at least in terms of value when compared to effort required. The weird thing is I received an authorized user offer on the same card last year, but it wasn't quite as good. I wonder if the fact that I had one on the same account will be a potential issue this time around? Since the requirements are fairly easy I decided to roll with it anyway and see how it played out.

ToggleIf you remember, I only have the Delta Reserve card because of a big misjudgment I made on how to handle Delta status a few years back. That mistake ended up turning into one of my biggest wins over time, and it looks like it may be getting even better!
Offer Details
Here are the offer details for my Delta Reserve authorized user offer:
- Add an authorized user and spend $500 within 6 months to earn 20,000 Delta Skymiles
- Good for up to 4 authorized users, or 80,000 miles
I found this in my Amex Offers section of my account. I didn't receive an email or mailer for it like I normally do, at least not yet. They made it sound like it was a one off offer, similar to what I received for my Amex Gold card. I decided to check the terms anyway to see what it said. That is when I saw that this offer was even better than expected. That is because it was good for up to 4 authorized users and 80,000 miles.

Why This Is My Favorite Authorized Bonus Offer Yet
While Delta Skymiles are far from the best currency, one of the worst actually, this is my favorite authorized user bonus yet. Why? Because of the value it offers for the spend required. Even if we value the Delta Skymiles at just 1.1 cents per point, that is a value of $220 per authorized user. Since the Delta Reserve authorized user bonus only requires $500 in spend, it offers a return of 44% per dollar on that spend. Nuts! That is a return that is better than most welcome offers. The fact that I get to do it 4 times is the real cherry on top. If this pays out, that is 80,000 Skymiles – worth $880 – for $2,000 in spend. I'll take that every day, and twice on Sunday!
Delta Reserve Authorized User Offer: ToP Thoughts
The only thing that would surprise me with this Delta Reserve card at this point is that they offer me another insane retention offer once again this year. I don't need to be greedy though. As long as this offer pays out as expected I will be perfectly content. It is twice as good as the one I received last year after all. I'll be sure to update everyone once it is all said and done.
Let me know if anyone else got this offer over in the ToP Facebook Group. I added it to our Amex authorized user database.
