Bilt Adds Avianca Lifemiles
In a week of devaluation after devaluation (hello, British Airways), Bilt Rewards continues to buck the trend. Today, Bilt officially adds Avianca Lifemiles as the currency's 16th transfer partner. Even better, this change happens less than six weeks after Bilt added its 15th transfer partner, Marriott Bonvoy. Hats off to Bilt Rewards for building the strongest set of transfer partners in the game. Now, let's get to all the details.
Table of Contents
ToggleBilt Rewards Transfer Partners
Even before this announcement, Bilt Rewards amassed arguably the best collection of transfer partners of any transferrable currency. Before today, the transfer partners included:
- Aer Lingus
- Air Canada
- Air France/KLM
- American Airlines
- British Airways
- Cathay Pacific
- Emirates
- Hawaiian
- Iberia Airlines
- Turkish Airlines
- United
- Virgin Atlantic
- Hyatt
- IHG
- Marriott Bonvoy
This list is unique and plentiful. It includes 3 of the major American hotel chains and both American Airlines and United Airlines. Bilt Rewards was already the only currency to have 2 transfer partners from the 3 major American airlines (Delta being the third). Today's announcement of Avianca Lifemiles only strengthens Bilt's position in the game.
Why does Avianca Lifemiles Matter?
Avianca Lifemiles is one of the most misunderstood, and undervalued, award programs out there. First, the website is atrocious. Second, when things go wrong, the customer service is usually worse than the website. So why should you ever consider sending your Bilt Rewards to Avianca Lifemiles? Because there is tremendous value in the program. Here are some of the highlights:
- no fuel surcharges on award flights
- 35,000 points to fly TAP business east coast USA to Portugal
- 63,000 points to fly Star Alliance business class USA to Europe or return
- 87,000 points to fly Star Alliance first class USA to Europe or return
- 25,000 points to fly United business class throughout USA
- 40,000 points or less to fly anywhere in the world in economy
- 50,000 points or less to fly business/first intra-Asia
Simply put, if you are ignoring and/or avoiding Lifemiles, you're likely overpaying for future Star Alliance flights!
Bilt adds Avianca Lifemiles: ToP Thoughts
Anytime a transferrable currency adds a new transfer partner, the value of the currency increases. For Bilt Rewards, the value just keeps going up. It is time to call a spade, a spade: with Bilt adding Avianca Lifemiles, Bilt Rewards now has the ToP transfer partner list of any transferrable currency. It's likely been true for a while, but another transfer partner that holds incredible value just cements this title. Each one of Bilt's 16 transfer partners are important and unique in some way. Add in the regular Bilt Rent Day transfer bonuses and we have a clear winner!
