Andaz Papagayo Award Space
The Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica has been a favorite among award travelers (our full review) since it first open. Back in those days, you could even book it with a free night certificate because it was amazingly a category 4 for years. That has changed with the last few Hyatt award chart updates, and it is once again going up in price later this month. It will be going to a category 7, costing 30,000 points a night on standard nights. That is double what it was just a few years ago. Because of this upcoming change people have been searching Andaz Papagayo award space over the last week without much luck. That seems to have changed over the last day or so, since Rick noticed a ton of space in the fall after finding next to nothing just a few days ago.
What Dates Are Available?
I decided to do some more digging and see when I could find space. This would allow you to lock in the price at the category 6 level for your travel dates. The awards can be as low as 21,000 World of Hyatt points a night at the category 6 level. Here is what I noticed:
- Some availability later this month at peak pricing (29K)
- Early April has some availability at peak pricing
- May has a couple of days at standard pricing (25K) and off-peak pricing (21K)
- June has sporadic days at off-peak and standard pricing
- July has the first half of the month pretty open at off-peak and standard
- August have most days available
- September / October / November is pretty wide open, outside of Thanksgiving week, at off-peak pricing (21K)
- Early December has some space at standard pricing
- January has some award space after the holidays at peak pricing
- Most of February has peak pricing

If you were hunting Andaz Papagayo award space, to get something on the books before the award chart changes on March 26th, then jump on this while it is open. There are quite a few dates available so you should hopefully be able to find something that works.
