Altitude Connect Business Spending Offer
What is that old saying? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Yeah, that's it, and it perfectly sums up the zaniness that is these US Bank spending offers. I shared their laughably bad authorized user bonus offer yesterday. Today, I bring you an equally confounding Altitude Connect Business spending offer. Another offer that I thought was going to be good at first sight but ended up falling woefully short of desirable. Let's take a look at the offer and why it is another pass for me.

Here are the details for our Altitude Connect Business spending offers, as both my wife and I received one.
- Earn 20% more points, up to 2,000 points in total ($10,000), on purchases after your business spends $6,600.
- It is essentially .2 more points per dollar since it doesn't count towards bonus points.
- You must activate the offer by August 31, 2024.
- You have until September 30th, 2024 to complete the required spend
- The bonus points will be added within 2-3 billing cycles after the end of the promotion
Why This Offer Blows My Mind Once Again (In A Bad Way)
Just as I didn't understand the thinking behind the the US Bank authorize user bonus offer, I don't really get this one either. I was excited to get an offer to get 20% more on my spending, even if that was horribly misleading on the flyer. Earning 20% more points means 20% more on ALL the points earning, and not just .2 more points per dollar. But, I digress.
It would have still been an okay offer if it was just a spending offer with a cap, but nope, US Bank can't do that. They had to put a floor on the promotion too, along with a cap. And $6,600, where does that number come from anyway?
The funniest thing is I couldn't do this promotion even if I wanted to. That is because both of our cards only have a $3,000 credit limit. Which means I couldn't hit the $6,600 floor required to trigger the promotion even if I wanted to because of the short timeline they give. Another major gripe of mine with these two promotions! What is up with giving people less than 60 days to complete a spending off US Bank?
Altitude Connect Business Spending Offer: ToP Thoughts
I really enjoy some of the products that US Bank has, even if they fly a bit under the radar. Their business lineup has gotten a lot better over the years and the Altitude Connect Business card is an intriguing cash back option if the earning structure works for your need. Having said that, their promotions team needs a major overhaul. I have yet to see an enticing, or generally achievable, spending offer come out of their. This Altitude Connect business spending offer is just more proof of that.
